How do I tell if I should install the 32 bit or 64 bit version on Windows?

You can find out if your computer is running a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows in the areas listed below.

Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 – Go to Start, enter About your PC, and then select About your PC. Look under PC for Edition to find out your version and edition of Windows.

Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 – Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. (If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.). Next, Tap or click PC and devices, and then tap or click PC info. Look under Windows for the version and edition.

Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 – On the Start screen, type Computer, press and hold or right-click Computer, and then tap or click Properties. Then look under Windows edition for the version.

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 – Click Start or the Windows logo right click Computer then click Properties. Look in System.

Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 – Click Start or the Windows logo depending on what you have then click Control Panel->System and Maintenance->System.

You could also try Clicking Start or the Windows logo then if you have a “Start Seach” field type winver then Double-click winver.exe from the results. If you had a run box instead of search just click Run type winver click OK.

Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 – Click Start -> Run Type winver then click OK. You could also try typing msinfo32 or sysdm.cpl if you like. Lastly you might try typing dxdiag. Windows might prompt you to verify drivers click No.

Windows 95/98/ME – Click Start-> Settings-> Control Panel double-click System click General tab. Locate version number under system heading.

Windows CE – ClickStart-> Settings-> Control Panel click the System applet. If that does not work you might just have to look in the General Tab or somewhere in the System Tab.

How do I tell if I should install the 32 bit or 64 bit version on Mac?

First of all you need to launch an application called Terminal.

To do this go to Spotlight and type in the word ‘Terminal’ – it should be the Top Hit.

Click it and a Terminal window will open.

Alternatively double click your hard drive and find your Applications folder.

Then double click the Utilities folder

Within the Utilities folder you should see the which you should double click to open a Terminal Window

Once you have opened a Terminal window type the command uname -m and hit return

If you get x86_64 then you have 64 bit OSx running and you should download and install the 64 bit version of enviie.

Anything else means it is a 32 bit operating system and you should download and install the 32 bit version of enviie..

Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 are 32 bit, otherwise…

Click ‘FILE’ in Outlook.

In Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016:

  • Select ‘Office Account’.
  • Click ‘About Outlook’ under ‘Product Information’.

In Outlook 2010:

  • Select ‘Help’.

Look for ‘64-bit’ or ‘32-bit’ included with the Outlook version information near the top of the ‘About Microsoft Outlook’ dialog (Outlook 2013 / 2016) or under ‘About Microsoft Outlook’ (Outlook 2010).

For example this indicates a 64 bit version…


In this case you would then choose the 64 bit installer for the Enviie Outlook Plugin.

How do I install the plugin?

 Once you have determined which version you require simply download the installer from

Once downloaded double click and follow the onscreen instructions.

Once complete launch Outlook. Click to compose a new email. You should see the enviie logo with the word Send underneath…


Simply compose your email as usual (making sure you include your enviie passcode anywhere in the body of the email) and click the ‘enviie send’ button to send via the Enviie Virtual Assistant.
